The mentoring duo consists of a department professor and an industry expert (industry professor) with practical experience.


Dongmyeong University’s ‘Advertising PR Department,’ reborn by changing the name from Advertising and Public Relations, has established double mentoring with nine institutions and companies in the Busan area.


Double Mentoring is a non-curricular program where a university professor and an industry expert jointly mentor 2nd to 4th-year students, managing their overall university life.


Thirty-seven Advertising PR students have been welcomed by advertising planning experts from three organizations: ▲ Hive Media (industry professor CEO Jin Hojin, supervising professor Gu Jahwi), ▲ Bizmax (industry professor CEO Park Dongmin, supervising professor Gu Jahwi), and ▲ Neo Event (industry professor CEO Kim Dongsung, supervising professor Gu Jahwi).


There are also PR experts from three organizations: ▲ Busan Cultural Foundation (industry professor senior Park Seonggwan, supervising professor Han Eunjeong), ▲ Homeplus (industry professor assistant manager Lee Seonghee, supervising professor Lee Jeonggi), and ▲ Hwamyju Hair (industry professor executive director Park Kyungmi, supervising professor Han Eunjeong).


Additionally, video experts from three organizations participate in mentoring: ▲ Choi Jak Planning (industry professor CEO Choi Eunji, supervising professor Han Eunjeong), ▲ SGN Company (industry professor CEO Oh Seungjun, supervising professor Han Eunjeong), and ▲ Ian Media (industry professor CEO Lee Gwanjae, Han Eunjeong).


Professor Gu Jahwi, who oversees double mentoring in the advertising field, said, “Through double mentoring conducted from April to November, students get to experience real companies.”


He introduced, “Students will be able to obtain fresh information such as corporate life, know-how, and strategies for employment.”


Professor Han Eunjeong, who oversees double mentoring in the video field, said, “Experts from nine institutions and the department faculty will convey vivid stories from the corporate field that students do not know.”


It is natural that students’ practical skills in advertising, PR, and video fields are upgraded.


Department head Lee Jeonggi of the Advertising PR Department said, “Last year, our department also conducted double mentoring for 25 students in cooperation with five institutions,” and added, “We will expand mentoring institutions so that Advertising PR students can experience at least one to two sessions of double mentoring before graduation.”
