[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…‘Ugh, quadruple bogey’.

It was a ‘nightmare’ for Im Sung-jae (23·CJ Logistics). On the 9th (Korean time) at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, USA (par 72, 7,475 yards), during the first day of the ‘Masters’ tournament, at the 15th hole (par 5, 530 yards). He was maintaining even par but lost as many as 4 strokes on this hole. His tee shot stayed on the fairway, and although his second shot overshot the green, the distance to the hole was about 29 yards. The third chip shot became a problem. The ball rolled on the green and then went downhill into the water.

After taking a penalty stroke, his fifth shot landed on the green but again failed to overcome the ‘glass-like green’ and headed into the water. Eventually, he got the ball on the green in 7 strokes and two-putted to hole out. Although he was the runner-up last year, this year he fell to a tie for 72nd place out of 88 players (5 over par, 77 strokes). He is now in a position worrying about the ‘cut off’. Kim Si-woo (26·CJ Logistics) also dropped his ball into the water once on this hole. Fortunately, he managed to save par and finished tied for 8th place (1 under par, 71 strokes).
