Family Month Approaching... KakaoPay Unveils Three Types of 'Money Transfer Envelopes' for the First Time

Kakao Pay is offering three types of remittance envelopes?‘Bominga Bom’ (Spring is Here), ‘Gyeolhon Chukhahae (Wedding Congratulations)’, and ‘Saranghaeyo (I Love You, Parents' Day)’?until the 16th of next month to celebrate the spring season, which is full of events such as weddings and Parents' Day.

In particular, the ‘Gyeolhon Chukhahae’ remittance envelope was newly designed featuring the Kakao Friends character Jordi, considering that the usage rate of ‘Wedding Congratulations’ envelopes increased by 39.4% last year during the COVID-19 pandemic compared to the previous year. Each envelope also has a different effect when received: ‘Bominga Bom’ shows cherry blossoms, ‘Gyeolhon Chukhahae (Wedding Congratulations)’ shows hearts, and ‘Saranghaeyo (Parents' Day)’ shows carnations fluttering.

Along with the addition of the three new envelopes, various events are being held to increase user benefits. First, among users who send money to acquaintances using Kakao Pay remittance envelopes, a payback benefit equal to the amount sent will be provided through a lottery. Users can participate in the event by clicking the ‘Apply’ button on the payback event page and sending money to a friend using their preferred remittance envelope. One winner will be selected for each of the 10 remittance envelopes, totaling 10 winners, and the higher the usage rate of a remittance envelope, the higher the chances of winning.

There is also an event where users can receive 100,000 won in Kakao Pay Money by verifying their usage on Instagram. Kakao Pay will select 20 users who upload a certification shot of using the ‘remittance envelope’ on Instagram and reward them with 100,000 won in Kakao Pay Money. Participants must tag the official Kakao Pay Instagram account in their post and include the hashtags ‘#KakaoPay’ and ‘#KakaoPayRemittanceEnvelope’ to complete their participation.

Both events allow participation regardless of which remittance envelope provided by Kakao Pay is chosen, and the remittance amount is also free. The events run until the 16th of next month, and winners will be individually notified on the 25th.
