Kolon's Unique Communication Platform, 'Kolon Festival' Held

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] As COVID-19 prolongs, causing corporate group events and gatherings to be postponed or scaled down, Kolon Group held an event using online platforms to share successful business cases.

Kolon Group announced on the 9th that it held the Kolon Festival, with all employees participating online.

The Kolon Festival, which started in 2006 and is now in its 14th year, is Kolon Group's representative communication platform. Employees from domestic and overseas business sites gather in one place to directly see and hear about the successful cases of business units that achieved results through passionate will and practice, and select awardees in an employee participation event. Employees analyze the achievements made by their colleagues and participate in real-time voting to decide the final grand prize-winning team.

Previously, the event was mainly held offline, but this time, considering the COVID-19 situation, all employees participated via PC or mobile, and only a minimal number of people attended on-site while complying with quarantine guidelines.

This year, the New Renewable Energy Business Team of Kolon Global won the grand prize. The New Renewable Energy Business Team was selected for their consistently accumulated business performance, including direct participation in the construction and operation of the Gyeongju Wind Power Complex and the Taebaek Gadeoksan Wind Power Complex, which enhanced profitability. Lee Min-sik, head of the New Renewable Energy Business Team at Kolon Global, said, "I was glad to share our achievements with all employees through the Kolon Festival, and although it was online, it was moving to proceed with more enthusiastic support and encouragement than ever before."

At this Kolon Festival, several success stories were introduced, including the Film Business Division of Kolon Industries, which improved performance through employees' dedicated efforts despite the market situation of intensified competition due to oversupply.
