[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced on the 8th that it held an explanatory meeting for the Gimhae Defense Industry Support Project in collaboration with the Gyeongnam Technopark Machinery Materials Parts Center and the Gimhae Defense Industry Association.
At this explanatory meeting, Gyeongnam Technopark introduced the current status, participation methods, and implementation schedules of its own project, the 'Gimhae Defense Industry Competitiveness Enhancement and Networking Support Project,' as well as the Gyeongnam Province project, the 'Gyeongnam Defense Cluster Project Group Promotion Project,' and urged active participation from many companies.
Additionally, the meeting discussed the introduction of the association's executive members formed in February and the association's bylaws. The explanatory meeting was conducted by accepting prior applications to comply with COVID-19 daily quarantine guidelines.
Park Jong-gu, CEO of Samjeong Turbine and the inaugural president of the association, said, "Twenty-seven companies have united with the intention of strengthening technological capabilities and competitiveness through exchange, mutual cooperation, and information sharing among local defense companies," adding, "We will maintain an organic cooperative system with the city and actively cooperate with defense policies."
