Hilton Signs Korea's First Management Contract for 'Hilton Garden Inn'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Hilton announced on the 8th that it has signed a management contract with Joon Tower for 'Hilton Garden Inn Seoul Gangnam.' Hilton Garden Inn Seoul Gangnam, managed under Hilton, is the first 4-star Hilton Garden Inn brand to be introduced in Korea and is scheduled to open this summer.
Guy Phillips, Senior Vice President of Business Development for Hilton Asia-Pacific and Australia, said, "We are very excited to introduce a new Hilton brand in Korea through the opening of Hilton Garden Inn Seoul Gangnam, in collaboration with Joon Tower."
In 2019, the number of overseas visitors to Korea was approximately 17.5 million. He added, "As interest in Korean culture grows overseas, Korea's travel industry continues to show steady growth. Once the COVID-19 situation eases, Korea will re-emerge as a travel destination with abundant growth potential."
Hilton Garden Inn Seoul Gangnam is located between Yangjae Station and Gangnam Station. It will feature 208 rooms, a full-service restaurant, bar, meeting facilities, an outdoor rooftop swimming pool, and a fitness center. Additionally, various amenities such as The Shop, which offers snacks, beverages, and self-service coffee 24 hours a day, will be available.
Dan Woojun, owner of Joon Tower and Hilton Garden Inn Seoul Gangnam, said, "Based on trust with Hilton, we will continue our partnership and satisfy guests with the successful opening of the hotel this summer."
Timothy Soper, Vice President of Hilton Korea, Japan, and Micronesia, said, "We are pleased to introduce our fourth brand, Hilton Garden Inn, in the Korean market. This will be an opportunity to strengthen the existing brand portfolio, including Hilton, Conrad, and the DoubleTree by Hilton Pangyo, which is scheduled to open next year."
At Hilton Garden Inn Seoul Gangnam, guests can enjoy Hilton Honors membership benefits. Hilton Honors is a loyalty program involving 18 Hilton hotel brands, allowing members to use points earned during stays as a payment method.
