[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] Woori Financial Group announced on the 8th that it will conduct the ‘Eusseuk (ESG) Campaign’ targeting employees and customers to promote ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management and the spread of ESG corporate culture.

All Woori Financial employees pledge to participate in ESG management to improve ESG awareness. They will receive education on major internal and external ESG trends through internal emails, and ESG-related content such as eco-friendly practices will be continuously displayed on PC screensavers to enhance promotion and educational effects.

They will also engage in environmental protection activities such as reducing disposable products by using personal cups, turning off monitors when away from their desks, and sorting waste. An event will be held where participants who take photos of their eco-friendly activities and upload them to SNS will be entered into a draw to receive eco-friendly products.

In the second half of the year, a non-face-to-face step donation campaign will also begin. Using the mobile application (app) Big Walk, donations will be accumulated in proportion to the number of steps taken by employees, and the accumulated donations will be donated to environmental protection organizations.

Efforts will also be made to foster an environmental protection culture among customers. Environmental protection images containing information on paper saving will be displayed in digital notices sent to customers, and ESG promotional content will be exposed on digital posters to inform visiting customers about ESG.

Son Tae-seung, Chairman of Woori Financial Group, emphasized, “We aim to encourage ESG participation from various stakeholders and spread it internally and externally,” adding, “We will continue to carry out various activities to strengthen ESG management.”
