[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced that as of 1:30 PM on the 8th, 11 new confirmed cases have been reported since 5 PM the previous day.
By region, there are 6 in Gimhae, 2 in Jinju, and 1 each in Changwon, Miryang, and Hapcheon.
Among the confirmed cases in Gimhae, 5 were all classified as numbers 3049~3051, 3053, and 3054 after testing positive following contact with confirmed cases within the province.
The remaining 1 person felt symptoms on their own, got tested, and was classified as number 3055 after testing positive. The route of infection is under investigation.
One of the Jinju confirmed cases is related to the Jinju bathhouse cluster and was classified as number 3052 after testing positive.
Additionally, one person who felt symptoms on their own got tested and was classified as number 3057 after testing positive. The route of infection is under investigation.
The confirmed cases in Changwon and Hapcheon, 1 each, were classified as numbers 3056 and 3058 respectively after testing positive following contact with confirmed cases within the province.
Among them, number 3058 was confirmed to be an employee at Hapcheon County Office. The quarantine authorities plan to temporarily close the office building and conduct full testing of employees on this day.
The Miryang confirmed case was classified as number 3048 after testing positive during quarantine following contact with a confirmed case from another region and showing symptoms.
Accordingly, the total cumulative confirmed cases in the province have increased to 3,055 (201 hospitalized, 2,840 discharged, 14 deceased).
