The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Hanbok Promotion Center announced on the 8th that the '2021 Spring Hanbok Culture Week' event will be held nationwide from the 9th to the 18th.

This is a cultural festival where people can enjoy various hanbok culture programs such as experiences, exhibitions, and fashion shows. During this period, CJ CGV will operate the 'Hanbok Love Hall' at Myeongdong, Myeongdong Station, and Piccadilly 1958 branches. The first 1,000 visitors wearing hanbok will be offered Korean movies for free.

On the 11th, at the professional baseball game between the LG Twins and SSG Landers held at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, K-pop group Momoland's JooE and Hyebin will wear hanbok and perform the ceremonial first pitch and first bat, respectively. Momoland participated in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's 'Hallyu-linked Collaborative Content Planning and Development' project last October and developed hanbok together with the hanbok company Hyeon.

At Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul, the 'K-pop X Hanbok' exhibition will be held from the 13th to the 25th. Twenty-five hanbok outfits worn by eight groups including BTS, Oh My Girl, Zico, and Chungha in music videos or stage costumes will be displayed. An official explained, "To prevent COVID-19, only 50 people per hour can enter on a first-come, first-served basis."

Seven local governments including Jinju in Gyeongnam, Gyeongju and Sangju in Gyeongbuk, Jongno in Seoul, Gokseong in Jeonnam, Namwon and Jeonju in Jeonbuk will also operate exhibitions and experience events combining hanbok and local culture.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hwang Hee stated, "We have prepared to ensure a safe event that can be enjoyed while complying with quarantine rules," and added, "I hope everyone can fully enjoy the beauty of our traditional clothing hanbok with their beloved family, friends, and lovers."
