Gwangju City Signs Business Agreement on 'Artificial Intelligence Business' with Sigong Tech Co., Ltd. [Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 8th that it signed a business agreement on the 7th with Sigong Tech Co., Ltd. in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province to establish a Gwangju-type artificial intelligence business foundation and agreed to actively cooperate in creating an AI ecosystem in Gwangju through the establishment of a Gwangju corporation or regional office (research institute).


This agreement marks the 86th business agreement for establishing a Gwangju-type artificial intelligence business foundation, which Gwangju City has been actively promoting as a future strategic industry.


Sigong Tech Co., Ltd. is a specialized exhibition culture company that produces various exhibition facilities such as museums and science centers. Its affiliates include ▲ Icecream Edu Co., Ltd. (a leading AI-based edutech company providing customized self-directed learning) and ▲ Icecream Media Co., Ltd. (a company developing digital educational content and platforms).


Icecream Edu Co., Ltd.'s main business models include ▲ personalized services based on learning big data (Icecream AI Home Run for elementary and middle school) and ▲ AI learning communication platform (High Class).


Icecream Media Co., Ltd.'s main business models include ▲ digital educational content platforms (Icecream S, High Class), ▲ teacher training platforms (Icecream Remote Education Training Center, SaemTube), ▲ coding education (Tturutturu, Tturuwa Coding), and ▲ AR·VR (XR School, digital textbook content).


Additionally, Pablo Art Company Co., Ltd., a new education affiliate, provides special art education services that highly enhance learners' creativity through various interactive (mutually engaging and two-way) art activities, questions, conversations, and drawing both online and offline.


Its main projects include an online art education platform (Pablo), premium offline art education centers (Pablo Art Center Daechi and Pangyo), and over 100 offline franchise art education centers nationwide and overseas (Libro Arts).


Through this business agreement, Sigong Tech Co., Ltd. plans to actively cooperate in nurturing talent in the AI digital educational content field and creating new jobs in the Gwangju area by establishing a Gwangju corporation or regional office (research institute).


The main contents of the agreement include ▲ development of big data-based AI personalized learning and various AR·VR immersive educational content technologies, as well as technical and policy consulting ▲ promotion of establishing a Gwangju corporation or branch office for nurturing talent and creating jobs in the AI digital educational content field ▲ cooperation in consulting for global expansion of educational businesses for AI-attracting companies and local companies ▲ development, operation, and promotion of various corporate support programs to create an AI industry ecosystem ▲ planning and promotion of specialized personnel education and employment programs in the AI field.


Chairman Park Ki-seok of Sigong Tech Co., Ltd. said, “We will strive to provide AI education services that allow children who will lead the future to learn joyfully without spatial and temporal constraints,” and added, “We will do our best to create jobs by establishing a Gwangju office (research institute) as soon as possible.”


Mayor Lee Yong-seop said, “I hope that AI services that our citizens can directly experience will be realized through AI-based educational content,” and added, “We will actively support and cooperate so that various attracted companies can create synergy within the AI industry ecosystem environment.”
