Recruitment for the 6th Youth Participation Committee Members until the 30th... Participate in Youth Policy Making Process... Proposal Submission and Opinion Collection
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is recruiting members for the ‘6th Gwangjin-gu Youth Participation Committee 2021’ until the 30th of this month.
The ‘Gwangjin-gu Youth Participation Committee’ has been operating for the 6th term since 2016 to collect diverse opinions from youth in the policy-making process related to youth and to promote their active participation and activities.
Eligible participants are youth aged 9 to 24 who reside in Gwangjin-gu or attend schools located in the district. A total of 30 members will be selected through document screening and interviews.
The activity period is one year, from August this year to July next year. The main activities include ▲ discovering and proposing youth-related policies ▲ youth policy promotion campaign activities ▲ participation in youth capacity-building workshops and democratic citizenship education ▲ network exchange activities among youth participation organizations.
Selected youth committee members will receive volunteer hours for participating in campaigns, and activity expenses such as transportation costs will be provided. They may also be recommended for Seoul city youth participation organization committees or learning mentoring, and outstanding participants will be awarded commendations.
Youth who wish to participate can fill out the application form posted on the district website by the 30th and submit it by visiting the nearest community service center or the Gwangjin-gu Office Child and Youth Division, or by email.

District Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, “Through the operation of the Participation Committee, we aim to establish substantial youth policies that reflect the actual opinions of young people,” and added, “We hope many youth who are interested in our district’s policies will participate and share fresh ideas.”
