'Son Yeol-eum Piano Recital' Held

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangdong Cultural Foundation (Chairman Lee Jeong-hoon) will hold the 'Son Yeol-eum Piano Recital' by pianist Son Yeol-eum, who is recognized worldwide in the classical music scene for her outstanding insight and limitless technique, on the 18th at 5 PM at the Gangdong Art Center Grand Theater Hangang.

The performance was rescheduled due to audience support after being canceled twice in 2020 because of COVID-19.

Gangdong Cultural Foundation aims to provide an inspiring opportunity to awaken musical sensitivity through the recital to residents and classical music lovers who have faced difficulties in cultural activities due to cancellations and postponements of scheduled performances and exhibitions amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic for over a year.

"Her musical imagination was delicate and relaxed. Her touch is elegant and restrained, yet she refuses to be dominated by the piece and shows her own color."

- Bachtrack

Pianist Son Yeol-eum, whose name itself is a brand, returns to Gangdong Art Center after five years since her 2016 'Modern Times' recital.

The program for this performance consists of four pieces: Mendelssohn's Rondo Capriccioso, Brahms' Six Piano Pieces, Chopin's Ballade No. 2, and Schumann's Kreisleriana. She is expected to deliver performances filled with brilliant technique and her unique interpretation.

Especially anticipated is her performance of Schumann’s 'Kreisleriana,' which she has cited as one of her favorite pieces.

Son Yeol-eum, a 'modern' performer who appeared on KBS's 'Yoo Hee-yeol's Sketchbook' and MBC's 'Hangout with Yoo,' playing the 'Turkish March' with fluent hand movements, and sharing her humble performer side through her YouTube channel. Pianist Son Yeol-eum, who dominates both the stage and the audience with her piano, will offer an opportunity to quench our cultural thirst during the COVID era through her recital.

In the spring of April, hoping that spring will return to our daily lives, we hope this concert will be a moment to escape reality and feel the comfort and hope that music brings through a beautiful performance.

This performance will be operated with 'two-seat distancing' for thorough quarantine measures, including the installation of fever monitors, mandatory mask-wearing for all staff and audience members, electronic entry log verification, and disinfection of the venue and seats by a professional sanitation company before the performance, prioritizing the safety of both performers and audience.
