Gathering of Presidents from 19 Member Universities to Discuss Current Issues and Higher Vocational Education Policies

Crisis in Universities, No Retreat... Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, Jeju Junior College Presidents' Meeting Held The 188th Meeting of Presidents of Specialized Colleges in Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Jeju Regions held at Busan Lotte Hotel.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Presidents of specialized colleges from the Dongnam region including Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Jeju gathered in Busan.


The presidents held the "188th Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Jeju Region Specialized College Presidents' Meeting (Chairman Kim Young-do)" on the 6th at Lotte Hotel Busan in Busanjin-gu.


At the meeting, 19 presidents from 22 member colleges attended, along with Nam Seong-hee, chairman of the Korea Council for College Education, Lee Seung-joo, director of planning, and Lee Ho-woong, president of the Higher Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Institute.


This meeting was organized to discuss current issues of specialized colleges at the Korea Council for College Education level, cooperation among regional colleges, and policies on higher vocational education.


Kim Young-do, chairman of the presidents' meeting and president of Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, said, "This is an opportunity to review and analyze the major issues of specialized colleges," adding, "To wisely overcome the current crisis, all regional specialized colleges must come together and unite their efforts."


The presidents' meeting consists of presidents from 22 specialized colleges in the Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Jeju regions, and is a forum to discuss cooperation plans for the development of higher vocational education and strengthening the status of regional specialized colleges.
