First, symbolizing 'World Book Day' on April 23, the '2021 Book Dream' event will gift books and roses to 423 citizens. From that day until the 9th, if you apply for books with a support message through the '2021 World Book Day' website, you can receive a book, a support postcard, and a rose frame.
The website will also host the 'BookForest Event' and the 'Experience Kit Making Event.' In the 'BookForest Event,' from that day until the 11th, 100 people who leave their worries and stories on the website will be selected to receive books and support letters that can help solve their concerns. In particular, among the 100, 10 people will be chosen by lottery to participate in a '1-on-1 Communication Book Prescription Live Broadcast.'
For the 'Experience Kit Making Event,' applications will be accepted from the 12th to the 16th, and 423 people will be selected by lottery to receive experience kits. The kits are designed to commemorate the 2021 World Book Day by allowing participants to create their own reading notebooks or plant seeds in book-shaped flowerpots.
On the Promotion Agency's YouTube channel, you can watch the 'Stay-at-Home Talk Concert,' where diverse books are discussed. Under the theme 'Quite Cozy Days,' author Namgung In will appear on April 12, and under the theme 'Words of Books, Words of Booktubers,' author Kim Gyeoul will appear on April 18, both engaging in conversations with the book YouTube creator 'Gongbaek.'
The 'Our Neighborhood Bookstore and Publisher Live (April 21?25),' involving 50 bookstores and publishers nationwide, will also be broadcast live online.
The 'World Book Day' commemorative ceremony will be held on the 23rd at 'Forest of Wisdom' in Paju Book City, strictly adhering to quarantine guidelines. This event will be streamed live through the Promotion Agency's YouTube channel.
A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official stated, "We hope that through the '2021 World Book Day' cultural events, citizens exhausted by COVID-19 can relieve psychological stress and share enjoyable reading experiences with family and friends."
