Kim Taehyun Punished for Sexual Violence Crime Two Weeks Before Murder
Secretly Entered Women's Restroom and Accessed Pornographic Sites on Phone

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] Kim Taehyun (24), who broke into a house in Junggye-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul, and brutally murdered a family including three women, was revealed to have a past record of being fined for sexual crime charges.
He recorded his moaning sounds and sent the files multiple times to a high school girl, and also secretly entered a women's restroom. Additionally, he continuously accessed obscene websites, showing symptoms of a type of sexual perversion. Experts analyzed that Kim Taehyun is highly likely to be a psychopath.
According to Dong-A Ilbo on the 7th, Kim Taehyun was fined 2 million won last month on the 10th at the Seoul Central District Court for violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (obscenity using communication media). He was accused of sending his sexual voice messages (moaning sounds) multiple times to a teenage female student. This was just 13 days before the triple murder incident.
Furthermore, in November 2019, he was fined 2 million won in April last year for secretly entering a public women's restroom and peeping (charges under the Special Act on Sexual Violence including 'intrusion into multi-use places for sexual purposes').
Moreover, when he was 18 years old in 2015, Kim Taehyun was summarily prosecuted and fined 300,000 won for insulting others by using abusive language or harsh criticism. Notably, traces of frequent access to obscene websites were also found on Kim Taehyun’s mobile phone.

Experts emphasized that this cannot be seen as a typical crime pattern and that Kim Taehyun is highly likely to be a psychopath.
Professor Lee Soo-jung of the Department of Criminal Psychology at Kyonggi University, in an interview with KBS Radio's "Choi Kyung-young's Strong Current Affairs," said, "Even murderers usually get flustered by what they have done and try to leave the scene somehow," adding, "It is difficult to see the pattern of opening and closing the refrigerator for two days and surviving in that house as a typical criminal behavior."
Regarding the high likelihood of Kim Taehyun being a psychopath, she cited reasons such as △ premeditated murder circumstances including acquiring weapons in advance △ hostility due to paranoid delusions △ behavior patterns at the scene differing from those of ordinary people.
Professor Lee analyzed, "Psychopathic criminals have fundamentally very different ways of thinking," and "It is highly probable that Kim Taehyun is feeling extremely aggrieved, believing he was disrespected and victimized."

The victims who died from Kim’s crime were a family of three women: A (59), B (24), and C (22), who are mother and daughters. Previously, on the 23rd of last month around 5:30 p.m., Kim is accused of entering B’s house in Junggye-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul, pretending to be a delivery worker. B was known to Kim through an online game. He killed B’s younger sister who was alone at home, B’s mother who returned about five hours later, and B herself who came back an hour after that.
On that day, Kim Taehyun entered the victims’ house hiding a weapon he had prepared in advance. The victims died at the scene from fatal wounds to their necks.
Afterward, Kim Taehyun exhibited bizarre behavior. He stayed at the scene for three days after committing the crime, during which he ate meals and drank alcohol. He also attempted to erase evidence by trying to reset his mobile phone. Eventually, he was caught by the police while having inflicted multiple self-inflicted knife wounds on his neck, wrists, and abdomen.
According to media reports, Kim claims that he planned the crime because B, who rejected his advances, made him feel ignored, but he insists that the deaths of B’s mother and younger sister were "accidental" crimes. Meanwhile, Kim is scheduled to be transferred to the prosecution on the 9th.
