[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] The number of successful candidates in the first round of the national civil service Grade 5 open competitive examination and the diplomatic service candidate selection was counted at 2,506. The highest passing scores in the Grade 5 open competitive exam were in the general administration, finance, and education administration categories. Among the successful diplomatic service candidates, two out of three were women.
On the 6th, the Ministry of Personnel Management announced the results of the 'National Civil Service Grade 5 Open Competitive Recruitment and Diplomatic Service Candidate Selection First Exam' based on this information. The list of successful candidates can be checked through the Cyber National Examination Center.
The number of successful candidates for the Grade 5 open competitive exam was 2,211 (1,671 administrative positions, 540 technical positions), and 295 diplomatic service candidates passed, making a total of 2,506 successful candidates. This year, 10,548 candidates took the first exam for the Grade 5 open competitive exam, which selects 308 people, showing a competition rate of 34.2 to 1. The highest passing score in the Grade 5 open competitive exam was 75.00 points in general administration (nationwide), finance, and education administration.
The number of female successful candidates was 748, accounting for 33.8% of the total, slightly higher than last year's female passing rate of 33.1% (709 people). The average age of successful candidates was 26.8 years, slightly higher than last year's 26.3 years.
According to the local talent recruitment target system, an additional 48 local talents passed, including 37 in general administration (nationwide), 10 in finance, and 1 in general machinery. Due to the application of the gender equality recruitment target system, a total of 34 additional candidates were added to the list, including 30 in finance, 2 in architecture (nationwide), 1 in electricity (nationwide), and 1 in chemical engineering (nationwide).
This year, 1,490 candidates took the first exam for the diplomatic service candidate selection, which selects 40 people, showing a competition rate of 37.3 to 1.
The passing score was 70.00 points, 0.83 points lower than last year's 70.83 points. In particular, female successful candidates accounted for 64.1% of the total, or 189 people, which is 3.2 percentage points higher than last year's female passing rate of 60.9%. This means that two out of three successful candidates were women.
The average age of successful candidates was 26.5 years, the same as last year (26.5 years). According to the local talent recruitment target system, three local talents additionally passed in the general diplomatic field.
The second exam, conducted as a thesis-type written test, will be held from July 15 to 20 for Grade 5 administrative positions and diplomatic service candidates (general diplomatic field), and from July 22 to 27 for Grade 5 technical positions.
Kim Woo-ho, Director of the Ministry of Personnel Management, said, “We will do our best to ensure that the scheduled national civil service Grade 9 and Grade 7 open competitive exams are safe and fair by closely cooperating with quarantine authorities and establishing and implementing thorough quarantine measures.”
