The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education conducting 'Kindergarten Child Abuse Prevention Education' via Zoom.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education has begun child abuse prevention education for kindergarten administrators and safety teachers.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seok-jun) announced on the 5th that from April 2 to 15, at 3:30 PM, five sessions are being conducted using Zoom by five educational support offices to strengthen the prevention and response capabilities for kindergarten child abuse.
This education aims to improve methods of guiding young children in the new semester and to spread a kindergarten culture that respects children's human rights through a shift in awareness about children's rights.
The sessions will be held at 3:30 PM for officials from Dongnae Educational Support Office on the 5th, Bukbu Educational Support Office on the 12th, Nambu Educational Support Office on the 14th, and Seobu Educational Support Office on the 15th.
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education's supervisor Heo Sook-kyung will lecture mainly on actual cases covering mandatory reporting and prevention of child abuse, child abuse cases and guidance methods, and child abuse management and response methods.
Following this, a kindergarten child abuse prevention related agencies council will be held, where kindergartens, Busan city districts and counties, police stations, and education offices will participate to share cases and information on child abuse prevention.
Earlier, on the 2nd, ‘Kindergarten Child Abuse Prevention Education’ was conducted for 95 officials from public and private kindergartens under Haeundae Educational Support Office, Suyeong District Office, Haeundae Police Station, and Dongbu Child Protection Agency.
Kwon Young-sook, head of the Elementary Education Division at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “This child abuse prevention education is intended to strengthen the response capabilities of all kindergarten teachers regarding child abuse prevention,” and added, “We will continue to cooperate with related agencies so that young children can have a happy and safe kindergarten life.”
