"Strengthening Functionality and Price Competitiveness" LGU+ Fully Revamps Enterprise Work Portal 'U+Works'

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG Uplus announced on the 5th that it has completely revamped its enterprise business portal service to keep pace with the non-face-to-face era. To emphasize that it provides various solutions all at once, the name was also changed to ‘U+Works’.

U+Works is a service that integrates essential company operations such as email, electronic approval, messenger, collaboration, and attendance management, as well as additional functions like HR management, inventory management, and sales management. Currently, about 50,000 employees working at more than 2,000 companies use U+Works.

LG Uplus recently decided to fully revamp the service considering the increasing demand for remote work, especially among small and medium-sized enterprises. The strategy is to secure competitiveness in the enterprise business portal market by offering enhanced features and affordable prices.

First, LG Uplus improved the UI/UX (user interface and experience) to enable corporate customers to conveniently use various IT solutions. The access environment via mobile was also organized so that work can be handled through various devices besides PCs.

A function that allows collaboration without a separate system was also added. Users can perform team tasks using bulletin boards, task management, web disks, schedules, etc., included in the ‘Collaboration’ menu. Communication among team members is supported through ‘Corporate Messenger,’ which allows free participation, and ‘Corporate Mail,’ which enables sharing mailboxes.

The attendance management function was improved to reflect the 52-hour workweek environment. While the existing service only supported simple clock-in and clock-out management, U+Works newly provides a flexible working hours system and automatic annual leave generation function so that workers can manage their 52-hour workweek by themselves.

Benefits to enhance U+Works’ price competitiveness were also introduced. Corporate customers can receive up to a 27% discount depending on the contract period and the number of subscribed accounts. For example, if a business with more than 200 employees uses U+Works with a 3-year contract, the monthly cost decreases from 1.2 million KRW to 860,000 KRW. The basic email storage space provided per account has also doubled from 2GB to 4GB.

In addition, corporate customers can conveniently use various enterprise IT solutions such as web fax, web hard drive, electronic documents, and working hours management combined with U+Works.

Small and medium-sized enterprises that find it difficult to develop their own solutions can create a remote work environment without cost burden by using U+Works provided in a cloud-based manner. It is also expected to improve corporate productivity and work processes through smooth collaboration among members.

Park Byung-joo, head of LG Uplus’s solution business, said, “We revamped U+Works to help companies improve productivity in the untact era. We will continue to discover cloud solutions for smart work environments so that companies can easily adopt the service.”

LG Uplus is also running a promotion that allows users to use the service at the industry’s lowest price to mark the revamp of U+Works. Users who newly subscribe to U+Works by June can use the service at up to 50% off for six months after subscription.
