"Complete Cosmetics in 2 Minutes" AK Plaza Unveils Beauty Tech Store at Bundang Branch An AK Plaza customer is checking their skin condition using a skin diagnostic device.


[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] AK Plaza Bundang Branch announced on the 5th that it has introduced the world's first beauty tech startup 'Lilycover' to customers for the first time.


'Lilycover' is characterized by producing and selling over 9,000 types of personalized optimized cosmetics within minutes using a robot, based on 110,000 data points. Earlier this year, it attracted industry attention by being the only Korean winner at the global company 'Johnson & Johnson' Skincare Awards.


'Lilycover' opened as a pop-up on the 2nd floor of the Bundang branch. Customers visiting the store take a simple survey, then have their skin condition examined with a beauty device, and after about 2 minutes, they can receive products optimized for their skin. Available items include lotion and essence, each sold for 22,000 KRW (15ml). All products are sold in small quantities sufficient for about two weeks of use to allow customers to experience the customized products and notice changes. Customers who want to use more products can purchase on-site or subscribe to a service. The manufacturing device is always kept sterile through plasma technology and uses raw materials supplied by 'Korea Kolmar'.


On the 25th of last month, AK Plaza also attracted the drawing cafe 'Seongsu Art Museum' for the first time in a department store. Seongsu Art Museum is a unique space where customers can experience art activities while enjoying beverages. It is attractive because even customers new to art can easily participate by choosing from various templates and create their own artwork using unlimited brushes and paints. AK Signature templates, available only at the Bundang branch, can also be selected. AK Plaza stated, "Not only young customers but also families with young children have responded well."


AK Plaza said, "We are undertaking various challenges to transform the department store into a space that provides 'daily premium' from a customer-oriented perspective," adding, "We plan to lead changes through various attempts beyond the framework of a department store."
