Gangnam-gu Operates Customized Job-Seeking Service 'Visiting Job Counseling Center'

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) is operating the on-site, close-contact project “Visiting Job Counseling Center,” which provides one-on-one counseling with professional career counselors for residents seeking jobs, on the 2nd floor of the Gangnam Driver’s License Examination Office until the end of this year.

The district temporarily suspended the “Visiting Job Counseling Center” in December last year to prevent the spread of COVID-19, but to provide customized job-seeking services in response to changes in the recruitment market, it revised operating hours and increased staff, and decided to reopen the counseling center from February.

The operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday every week, and anyone seeking employment can visit for counseling.

For more details, please contact the Gangnam-gu Job Support Center.

Meanwhile, the district holds a “Recruiting Company Invitation Day” every month, inviting local small and medium-sized enterprises with hiring plans to conduct one-on-one on-site interviews with job seekers. This year alone, it has helped 10 people find jobs, actively working to match recruiting companies and job seekers.

Kim Mi-wook, Director of the Job Policy Division, said, “The ‘Visiting Job Counseling Center’ will be able to provide customized employment information and programs for job seekers,” adding, “We will continue to create ‘Gangnam, a future-oriented attractive city’ through various job projects.”
