RaonPeople "Expanding New Sales through Secondary Battery AI Inspection Contract"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] AI specialist company Raon People announced on the 2nd that it is expanding its business by signing AI inspection contracts for secondary batteries with domestic and global companies in line with the increasing demand for secondary batteries.

The secondary battery business is one of the hottest industries in the global market alongside 5G and autonomous driving, covering battery material sectors needed for a wide range of products including electric vehicles, electric bikes, drones, robots, laptops, smartphones, and various home appliances.

Raon People provides highly satisfactory services with AI inspection solutions that inspect and classify various types of defects, not only managing the external quality and grading of batteries but also detecting irregular defects such as surface scratches, separators, electrodes, and electrolyte leakage. In particular, AI technology manages and tracks defects in all processes from cells, modules, packs, and assembly of small batteries, essential components for electronic devices, as well as medium-to-large pouch batteries used in electric vehicles.

As the smart mobility industry, including electric vehicles, which is a core of the 4th Industrial Revolution, is activated, products and markets related to secondary batteries are rapidly growing. The company analyzed that Raon People’s AI inspection business is expanding as precise and fast AI inspection for secondary batteries is emerging as an essential element and competitive advantage in the production process.

Raon People is carrying out national projects such as the pilot project for building C-ITS (Cooperative-Intelligent Transport System) for autonomous driving, intelligent transportation systems, smart intersections, and crosswalks, as the government announced an investment plan exceeding 1 trillion won aiming for the world’s first commercialization of fully autonomous driving.

Along with this, despite the COVID-19 crisis last year, Raon People focused on AI technology development and investment, including secondary battery inspection, by significantly increasing research personnel. This year, the company expects to expand sales and operating profit through a major structural reform by entering new markets such as automotive exterior inspection, clothing inspection, autonomous driving, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS), as well as continuing secondary battery AI inspection.
