China "Considering Participation" in Biden's Climate Summit Invitation

[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] China has revealed that it is considering whether to participate in the climate summit hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden.


According to Yonhap News, Hua Chunying, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a regular briefing on the 1st, when asked about participation in the climate summit, "We have already been invited and are seriously considering it."


Spokesperson Hua emphasized, "The issue of climate change requires the international community to continuously strengthen communication and cooperation," adding, "China will also continue to make efforts to respond to climate change."


Earlier, President Biden invited leaders from 40 countries, including President Moon Jae-in, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Russian President Vladimir Putin, to the climate summit to be held virtually on the 22nd and 23rd.
