[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Electronics manufacturer Namseong is on the rise following news of Google's investment in Kakao Mobility.
As of 10:28 AM on the 1st, Namseong is trading at 4,125 KRW, up 3.9% from the previous trading day.
Kakao Mobility announced on the 1st that Google International LLC invested $50 million USD (approximately 56.5 billion KRW) to acquire a 1.7% stake in Kakao Mobility.
Namseong has recently gained attention for developing in-vehicle infotainment devices. Namseong is developing certified products for Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto, and it is reported to be currently developing Alexa Auto products as well. Industry experts expect Namseong to establish a core platform for connected cars through this.
