Applications Accepted at LH Subscription Center from 12th to 21st, Winners to be Announced in July-August
[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 1st that it will begin accepting applications for the first Happy Housing tenants of the year starting from the 12th.
The recruitment targets include 4,170 units in 7 locations in the metropolitan area such as Namyang New Town B10 Block, and 3,864 units in 12 locations in provincial areas such as Cheonan Station District, totaling 8,034 units across 19 districts nationwide.
In particular, this recruitment will supply Happy Housing for workers in regional strategic industries in 2 districts, in accordance with the government's ‘Job-Linked Support Housing Promotion Plan’.
Hwaseong Dongtan 2 Support 6-2 (280 units) boasts excellent transportation accessibility with Dongtan Station (SRT), Gyeongbu Expressway, and the 2nd Outer Ring Road, and is expected to attract significant interest from regional strategic industry workers within Dongtan 2 District due to the presence of a startup incubating center and proximity to workplaces.
Cheonan Station District (150 units) offers outstanding metropolitan transportation networks including Cheonan Station (Subway Line 1 and KTX) and the comprehensive bus terminal, facilitating easy access to the metropolitan area. It is expected to serve as support housing for regional strategic industry workers among approximately 640 businesses (33,000 employees) in Cheonan City, including the nearby 2nd and 3rd general industrial complexes.
Industrial complex-type Happy Housing, prioritized for industrial complex workers, will also be supplied in 5 districts nationwide.
Jeonju 1 Industrial Complex (601 units), Pohang Blue Valley (420 units), Mungyeong Heungdeok (200 units), and Naju Ichang (150 units) are the first industrial complex-type Happy Housing supplied in each respective provincial region. Additionally, Gimpo Masong B-3 (450 units) is located within the Gimpo Masong public housing project area with established living infrastructure, expected to provide convenient housing for nearby industrial complex workers.
Starting from this recruitment, the income requirements for tenants with 1 or 2 household members have been relaxed, reflecting amendments to the ‘Enforcement Rules of the Public Housing Special Act’.
Applications can be submitted from the 12th to the 21st via the LH Application Center and mobile platforms, with limited on-site application services available for those with limited internet access. Successful applicants will be announced around July to August.
Furthermore, before applying, prospective tenants can use the ‘Happy Housing Self-Diagnosis’ menu on the LH Application Center or My Home Portal to preliminarily check eligibility based on income and assets.
An LH official stated, "Starting with this first quarter tenant recruitment, we will take the lead in realizing national housing stability by supplying approximately 31,000 Happy Housing units across 99 locations this year."
