[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seung-jin] Chicken franchise Kyochon F&B announced on the 1st that it has newly built and opened a metropolitan area logistics center in Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do.

The newly opened metropolitan area logistics center was established to strengthen processing capacity and responsiveness due to increased volume in domestic business and expansion of new businesses such as home meal replacement (HMR). The metropolitan area logistics center is located on a site of 16,528㎡ (5,000 pyeong) with two above-ground floors.

Through the new metropolitan area logistics center, Kyochon F&B expects a significantly enhanced supply capacity, being able to handle more than 200 tons per day, which is more than twice the previous capacity of about 85 tons.

Meanwhile, Kyochon had already expanded logistics centers in the Honam region and Yeongnam region in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Additionally, the southern (Gimhae) logistics center is scheduled to be completed within the first half of the year. Going forward, Kyochon plans to accelerate the operation of an efficient logistics system centered on four logistics centers nationwide to support domestic and international business expansion and growth.

A Kyochon F&B official stated, “This logistics center expansion is an opportunity for growth that lays the foundation not only for the domestic chicken business but also for new businesses,” adding, “We will use this as a stepping stone to provide trust and better services to franchisees and customers, becoming a continuously growing Kyochon F&B.”
