Installation of 5 Additional 50kW Electric Vehicle Fast Chargers to Enhance User Convenience... 4 Units Planned for Basement Parking Lot of Mapo-gu Office in April, Efforts to Realize an Eco-Friendly City
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yudonggyun) has newly installed fast charging facilities for electric vehicles at Yeomni Public Parking Lot to meet the increasing demand for electric vehicle charging.
Last year, the district was selected for the 'Seoul-type Electric Vehicle Concentrated Charging Station Distribution Project' and secured 200 million KRW in city funds to establish a fast charging station at Yeomni Public Parking Lot (61 Keunumul-ro), a representative public parking lot in Mapo-gu, aiming to expand the still insufficient charging infrastructure in the area.
Following recent completion of installation work, the fast charging station at Yeomni Public Parking Lot began operation on March 30, equipped with five 50kW fast chargers, allowing simultaneous charging of five electric vehicles.
Including the new charging facilities at Yeomni Public Parking Lot, the district now owns a total of 36 charging stations across 12 locations within the area.
Additionally, the district announced plans to complete four more fast chargers at the first-floor attached parking lot of Mapo-gu Office within this month.
Since 2019, the district has been steadily expanding charging facilities centered around the attached parking lot of Mapo-gu Office and public parking lots in the area to improve charging convenience for electric vehicle users.
Moreover, in 2019, the district replaced the mayor’s official vehicle with a hydrogen car, and in 2020 introduced three eco-friendly electric small street cleaning vehicles for road cleaning operations, implementing various eco-friendly policies to reduce greenhouse gases and fine dust.
Yudonggyun, Mayor of Mapo-gu, stated, “The policy to expand the distribution of electric vehicles and charging stations is a representative environmentally friendly project that reduces emissions of greenhouse gases and fine dust. We will take the lead in realizing an eco-friendly city through this and various other projects.”
