KOSHA Draws Attention with 'Workplace Accident Prevention Announced by Announcers'
Jo Woo-jong's 'Storm Search' Effect Leads to Production and Distribution of Safety and Health Videos
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Why did famous announcer Jo Woo-jong appear at an industrial site?
Video footage featuring announcer Jo Woo-jong holding a microphone is being distributed. Based on serious accident cases such as fatal accidents at industrial sites, Jo appears in educational videos that inform about disaster prevention measures.
The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Director Park Doo-yong) is producing and distributing five types of videos that can be easily used as safety and health education materials at workplaces.
The five videos include ▲ two types on prevention of entrapment accidents, ▲ flammable material fire hazard work, ▲ tower crane signaling work, and ▲ analysis of waste tank lorry explosion accident cases.
Each video, approximately 8 minutes long, features announcer Jo Woo-jong searching for key keywords related to accidents and safety measures, and interacting through comments and real-time communication.
The video titled “Analysis of Waste Tank Lorry Explosion Accident Case” contains cause analysis and prevention measures based on a serious accident that occurred last July at a chemical product manufacturing company.
Among these, two videos (“Flammable Material Fire Hazard Work” and “Tower Crane Signaling Work”) are designed to be used as ‘special training’ for workers engaged in hazardous or dangerous tasks.
The video materials featuring announcer Jo are available on the agency’s website and app (Crisis Escape Safety and Health), as well as on YouTube (Anjeli).
The agency’s safety and health content development officer said, “We develop and distribute educational videos with various concepts every year,” and added, “We hope workplaces actively use these materials to contribute to the prevention of fatal accidents.”
