Truewin Signs Exclusive Supply Contract for Switch Components of Kia Electric Vehicle 'EV6'

[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Sensor specialist Truewin announced on the 29th that it will supply the electric vehicle switch product 'SLS (Stop Lamp Switch)' for Kia's 'EV6'.

Kia's EV6 is the first model in Kia's dedicated electric vehicle lineup developed based on Hyundai Motor Group's dedicated electric vehicle platform, the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). Truewin's SLS is a non-contact switch that detects brake pedal movement and outputs a signal to illuminate the vehicle's brake lamp. Compared to conventional mechanical switches, it features no physical wear or contact failure and is also highly durable.

Kia plans to hold the world premiere of the EV6 online at the end of this month, revealing the full appearance and specifications of the EV6. Following the Ioniq 5, Kia aims to achieve a sold-out record in pre-orders conducted in the global market. Going forward, Kia plans to sequentially launch seven new dedicated platform electric vehicles by 2027, transforming itself into an electric vehicle manufacturer. Kia's annual electric vehicle sales target for 2030 is 880,000 units.

A Truewin official stated, "Starting with the Chinese Nio electric vehicle last year, we have been successful in securing orders for electric vehicle sensor products from domestic and overseas automakers," and added, "Through this exclusive supply, we will expand our customer base and market share with our recognized sensor technology."
