24 Billion KRW Support for Gyeongbuk Industry-Academia Convergence District Over the Next 3 Years (12 Billion KRW National, 12 Billion KRW Local)
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 29th that it has been finally selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology) public project 'Industry-Academia Convergence Promotion Support Project,' securing 1.2 billion KRW in national funds and 12 million KRW in evaluation excellence incentives.
The 'Industry-Academia Convergence Promotion Support Project' is a project in which universities and companies jointly carry out industry-academia convergence promotion programs in industry-academia convergence districts to support strengthening corporate R&D capabilities, consulting on corporate difficulties, and customized workforce training. The project is conducted over three years with a total budget of 2.4 billion KRW (1.2 billion KRW national funds, 1.2 billion KRW local funds).
Through this selection, companies are expected to strengthen their industry-academia convergence R&D competitiveness by utilizing expert consulting, and universities will operate customized workforce training programs and employee learning programs, thereby establishing a foothold for mutual customized workforce training, according to Gyeongbuk Province.
A Gyeongbuk Province official stated, "We will spare no support so that resident companies and universities can receive many benefits for the successful operation of the Industry-Academia Convergence Promotion Support Project selected this year," and added, "We will make great efforts to create a field-oriented industry-academia cooperation system environment where universities and companies research together and solve difficulties."
