Tourism Organization Launches 13th Generation of University Student Reporter Group 'Travel Leader' Travel Leader 13th Generation.

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 29th that it has selected the 13th generation of the university student SNS reporter group 'Travel Leader,' which introduces and promotes hidden domestic travel destinations with fresh and creative ideas.

The 13th generation Travel Leaders, selected with a competition rate of 13 to 1, consist of a total of 32 members. They will engage in travel destination coverage, travel content creation, and online promotional activities for one year to convey the charm of domestic travel to Generation Z from the same perspective. Especially this year, their role in recommending safe travel destinations and introducing safe travel methods in the COVID-19 era will be emphasized. They will also participate in producing digital content tailored to the COVID-19 era, such as 'virtual travel.'

At the online launch ceremony held on the 26th, the 32 reporters participated in an event wearing hanbok against a backdrop of domestic travel destinations. Various programs such as the appointment ceremony and travel article writing training were also conducted. The hanbok event was carried out in collaboration with the tourism venture company 'Hanboknam,' which promotes hanbok culture to both foreigners and Koreans.

Kang Jongsun, head of the Domestic Digital Marketing Team at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "The goal of the Travel Leader activities is to increase domestic travel demand among Generation Z after COVID-19," adding, "Their activities are highly anticipated as creators best suited to the rapidly digitalized travel trends."

Since 2009, about 860 university students have participated as Travel Leaders, and vivid travel experiences of past Travel Leaders can be found on the organization's 'Korea Tourism' blog, Instagram, Facebook, and other SNS platforms.
