Discussing Identification of Vulnerable Households and Job Expansion
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Ministers from social departments gathered in one place to discuss measures to address disparities revealed by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ministry of Education announced that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye held a "Ministerial Workshop for Social Departments" on the 27th at the branch of the National Human Resources Development Institute for Public Officials in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province.
The workshop was attended by Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun, Deputy Prime Ministers Yoo Eun-hye and Hong Nam-ki, ministers from the Ministry of Science and ICT, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Employment and Labor, Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, Ministry of SMEs and Startups, as well as Kim Sang-jo, Chief Presidential Secretary for Policy, Yoon Chang-ryeol, Senior Secretary for Social Affairs, and Lim Seo-jung, Senior Secretary for Jobs.
The participating ministries shared the achievements and shortcomings of the four-year implementation of inclusive national policies by major task. They discussed ▲ identifying vulnerable groups and households in crisis ▲ expanding job support ▲ promoting nationwide employment insurance.
Deputy Prime Minister Yoo emphasized, "To resolve the social disparities caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, social-related departments must view social issues from an integrated perspective and derive solutions through collaboration."
