[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] It has been confirmed that North Korea changed the English term for the 'new-type tactical guided projectile' it test-fired on the 25th from 'Projectile' to 'Missiles.'
On the 26th, the Korean Central News Agency clarified that it is a 'missile' by translating the new-type tactical guided projectile as 'New-type Tactical Guided Missiles' in an English article posted on its website.
In the English article distributed around 6:18 a.m. that day, it was written as 'New-type Tactical Guided Projectile.'
The term 'new-type tactical guided projectile' appears a total of four times in the headline and body of the article, and all instances of 'projectile' were replaced with 'missile.'
Meanwhile, there is analysis that North Korea’s change from the neutral term 'projectile' to 'missile,' which is a type of weapon, implies that it does not care about the international community’s perspective. However, the news agency did not use the term 'ballistic,' which would acknowledge a violation of Security Council resolutions.
