KCC Releases Video on 'How to Read Your Mobile Phone Bill Correctly'

'Mobile Communication Tips, Just Know This' Campaign



[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The Korea Communications Commission released a video on June 26 on how to read your phone bill as part of the campaign "Mobile Communication Tips, Just Know This!"


This video follows last month's release of the "Mobile Phone Subscription Application" episode. It was planned and produced based on actual complaint cases where consumers did not verify whether the subscription conditions explained by the seller at the time of service subscription were properly reflected in the phone bill, making it difficult to seek redress later.


In particular, a KCC official appears in person to explain how to read the phone bill correctly and important information about useful plans to keep in mind. The video emphasizes that when users receive their phone bill, they must check whether the plan, additional services, and installment principal match the subscription application. It also provides information on various discount benefits, how to check all telecommunication services subscribed under one's name at once, and precautions when canceling services.


Meanwhile, last month, the KCC collected public questions related to mobile communications through comments on social network service (SNS) channels such as YouTube and Facebook, and reflected them in the production content. Answers to the questions will be produced in a Q&A format and serialized on Instagram, blogs, and other platforms. The next episode will cover topics related to penalty fees.
