Mesh Korea Wins 2020 'Venture 100 Billion Enterprise Award' Hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups

Mesh Korea (CEO Jeongbeom Yoo), a comprehensive digital logistics company operating the logistics brand ‘VROONG’, announced that it surpassed 100 billion KRW in sales as of the 2019 fiscal year and was selected as a recipient of the ‘Venture 100 Billion KRW Company Award’ in 2020.

The ‘Venture 100 Billion KRW Company Award’, hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Venture Business Association, is an award established to widely publicize the achievements of venture companies that have exceeded 100 billion KRW in sales and to encourage the employees of companies that have contributed to job creation. The award has been given since 2005.

Mesh Korea was recognized for its steep sales growth and the creation of quality delivery driver jobs, and was selected as a recipient of the Venture 100 Billion KRW Company Award. Since officially launching the ‘VROONG’ service in 2016 with sales of 5.2 billion KRW, the company recorded rapid sales growth of 30.1 billion KRW in 2017, 73 billion KRW in 2018, 161.4 billion KRW in 2019, and 265.6 billion KRW in 2020, achieving an average annual sales growth rate of 87%.

Accordingly, Mesh Korea was also named a ‘Gazelle-type Venture 100 Billion KRW Company’, which is selected among venture companies with a sales growth rate exceeding 20% for three consecutive years. Among the total 617 venture companies awarded the Venture 100 Billion KRW Company Award, only 35 were selected as Gazelle-type Venture 100 Billion KRW Companies, and among them, only 14 companies were simultaneously selected for both awards in the same year.

Meanwhile, the 2020 Venture 100 Billion KRW Company Award ceremony was canceled in accordance with the government’s social distancing guidelines due to the spread of COVID-19. Instead, Kim Youngshin, head of the Seoul Regional Office of SMEs and Startups, personally visited the award-winning companies to deliver trophies as an official event substitute.

Jeongbeom Yoo, CEO of Mesh Korea, said, “The Venture 100 Billion KRW Company Award was possible thanks to the efforts of all employees, including the delivery drivers responsible for ‘VROONG’.” He added, “We will strive to become a more growing Mesh Korea through this award.”
