[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Jeju Air announced on the 25th that it will expand the sale of its gift airline tickets, called ‘Giftyket,’ to international routes.
Jeju Air will sell international Giftykets from 6 p.m. today until the 7th of next month. Jeju Air’s Giftyket is an airline ticket that does not restrict the number of passengers or dates, allowing anyone to travel on their desired date within the validity period.
After receiving the Giftyket, register it on Jeju Air’s website or mobile app My Page using the authentication number, then apply it as a coupon when booking a ticket to complete the payment.
The initial registration validity period after purchase is 3 months (93 days), extendable up to 5 years, and it must be used within 180 days after registration. Once registered, the Giftyket will be considered used after 180 days regardless of usage. Detailed terms and conditions can be found on Jeju Air’s website.
Off-season round-trip fares start at ▲ 149,000 KRW for all Japan routes ▲ 199,000 KRW for Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao routes ▲ 299,000 KRW for Guam and Saipan routes ▲ 279,000 KRW for all Southeast Asia routes. Tickets valid during peak season are sold starting at ▲ 299,000 KRW for all Japan routes ▲ 349,000 KRW for Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao routes ▲ 499,000 KRW for Guam and Saipan routes ▲ 450,000 KRW for all Southeast Asia routes, with 5,000 tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis for each.
These fares are exclusive to Flyback (including free checked baggage of 15kg and carry-on baggage of 10kg), and airport service fees and fuel surcharges must be paid separately.
A Jeju Air official said, “Although it may be burdensome to travel abroad immediately, since the usage period can be extended for more than 5 years after purchase, this will be a reasonable product for consumers planning future trips.”
