"The choice of Kim Si-woo and Lee Kyung-hoon."
The Callaway Golf Epic driver (photo) has recently become famous as the winning weapon of the Korean Brothers. Kim Si-woo secured his third career win after 3 years and 8 months at the American Express on the PGA Tour last January, and Lee Kyung-hoon achieved his personal best runner-up finish at the Waste Management Phoenix Open last month. The players praised, "The distance competition on the PGA Tour is getting fiercer," and said, "We have definitely felt the effect of the equipment."
The Epic is the successor model to the Epic Flash, which caused a sensation in 2019 as the industry's first A.I. driver. It is equipped with the A.I.-designed 'Jailbreak A.I. Speed Frame,' which dramatically improves ball speed. While the previous structure was reinforced vertically, this time stability has been greatly enhanced in horizontal and torsional directions. Additionally, ultra-strong titanium material was used to add spin stability.
It succeeded in reducing weight by 19g using high-strength triaxial carbon, and the extra weight was redistributed to the head to increase the moment of inertia (MOI). The driver’s sole rear part has a 17g sliding weight to adjust ball flight. When used with the OptiFit hosel, it allows up to 20 yards of left-right adjustment. There are three types: Max, Speed, and Max LS. Callaway Golf added that it is "an innovative masterpiece oriented toward the future."
