[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Wemakeprice is launching a premium food hall dedicated to high-quality food products called 'Matshulreong.' The plan is to offer food items that combine taste, quality, and hygiene at reasonable prices.
Wemakeprice announced on the 22nd that Matshulreong will officially open, and through Super Tuesday tomorrow (the 23rd), customers can enjoy discounts of up to 50%.
Matshulreong is a food-exclusive hall where Wemakeprice's merchandise planners (MDs) carefully select famous restaurants nationwide and trendy popular food products. It was officially launched following the popularity of the spot event 'Matteukgongdae' that started last September.
The product verification process has been further strengthened. In addition to the existing two verification criteria?▲customer reviews with a rating of 4.5 or higher ▲MDs' direct tasting?additional standards such as ▲mystery shopping delivery verification ▲production facility hygiene verification have been added.
For products in Matshulreong that have received the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) certification, Wemakeprice also conducts on-site visits to inspect operational practices. Only about 30% of the visited companies passed the verification and were admitted to Matshulreong.
Matshulreong operates various service halls tailored to customer preferences, including the 'Custom Proposal' main hall, 'Nationwide Delivery of Famous Restaurants,' 'Dessert Hall,' 'Matshulreong Certification Hall,' and 'Traditional Liquor Hall.' Currently, about 100 partner companies sell safe food products.
The main products featured in the opening commemorative up to 50% discount event include approximately 30 items such as ▲2 kg of Mugwort Rice Cake + Soybean Powder from Namhae’s famous Jung-hyeon Rice Cake Shop for 24,900 KRW ▲one tray of handmade walnut pie from Chuncheon’s J Oven for 9,900 KRW ▲Fresh Easy Uijeongbu Jidonggwan’s spicy shrimp + free gift for 10,900 KRW ▲Gwangju Seonggang Hanwoo Grade 1 raw beef tartare meal kit for 10,900 KRW.
Kim Seung-tae, team leader of Wemakeprice’s Matshulreong team, said, "We thoroughly check all factors such as price, taste, quality, and hygiene from the customer's perspective and carefully select only delicious and safe food products to present. We will do our best to change the perception of customers who have distrust toward online food sales."
