[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] KT announced on the 19th that it has completed a one-person creator training program conducted over approximately 11 months from April last year to this year, in collaboration with the Small and Medium Business Distribution Center, aimed at helping small business owners develop online sales channels. This project was designed to help small business owners struggling due to COVID-19 gain new opportunities and overcome crises by leveraging KT's infrastructure and capabilities.

KT prepared a specialized educational curriculum covering content creation, marketing, and the use of online commerce platforms, providing training along with practical infrastructure to 301 small business owners. Additionally, KT nurtured 256 professional creators who could promote and assist in selling the products of small business owners.

Furthermore, KT supported the production of a total of 50 pieces of content to promote products sold by small business owners and broadcast them through Olleh TV. KT also collaborated with Amazon Korea to facilitate entry and sales activation on Amazon, helping small business owners expand their products' reach to global markets beyond Korea.

Considering the COVID-19 situation, the training was conducted both online in a non-face-to-face format and offline at the KT Creator Factory Center while adhering to quarantine guidelines. Kim Minseon, a trainee who completed the program and operates Sanchaek Co., Ltd., which sells educational board games for children, said, “I was able to receive systematic and professional training in content creation and online marketing, which enabled me to expand sales channels from the existing B2B-focused business to online channels and smoothly enter the B2C market.”

Kim Hunbae, Executive Vice President and Head of KT Media Platform Business Division, stated, “This is a case where KT utilized its infrastructure and capabilities in various ways to help small business owners struggling due to COVID-19 overcome the crisis and grow. We will continue to collaborate with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small and Medium Business Distribution Center to provide new opportunities and practical support measures for small business owners.”
