KoAsia Acquires Additional SQ Certification from Hyundai Motor and Kia... "Strengthening Competitiveness in the Automotive Electronics Business"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] CoreAsia, a system semiconductor specialist company, announced on the 19th that it has obtained SQ (Quality Assurance) certification for supplying LED modules from Hyundai Motor Company and Kia.

The company stated, "Following the existing LED SQ certification, we have additionally acquired SQ certification for supplying LED modules, reaffirming our productivity and quality technology." It added, "As a result, we are now able to supply LED lighting, which is essential for future vehicles such as electric vehicles and autonomous vehicles."

It continued, "We plan to expand our supply range to high value-added products such as LIN (Local Interconnect Network) and CAN (Controller Area Network) communication automotive electronics products."

SQ certification is a system created by Hyundai Motor Company and Kia to secure the quality and reliability of their partners in response to the increase in electronic systems due to the high functionality and electrification of automobiles. Companies that obtain SQ certification have various new order business opportunities and the advantage of expanding their global customer base.

Earlier, on the 2nd, CoreAsia announced that it would supply LED lighting for the 'Ioniq 5,' the first model of Hyundai Motor Company's exclusive electric vehicle brand. The strategy is to broaden the application fields by applying LED module systems with various functions and designs, not only for interior lighting but also for other uses.

A CoreAsia official said, "Due to active parts supply, the performance of CoreAsia's LED division is expected to continue to improve," and added, "We will strengthen our competitiveness in the automotive electronics business based on this achievement."

Meanwhile, CoreAsia is the only official member of ISELED (Global Smart LED Alliance) among domestic companies. It has previously developed eco-friendly automotive communication LED solutions together with the U.S. semiconductor company Microchip Technology.
