[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Huons is on the rise following news that it was recently selected as the supplier of 'COVID-19 vaccine syringes' for Seattle City, Washington State, USA.
As of 9:38 AM on the 17th, Huons is trading at 57,700 KRW, up 2.49% from the previous day. During the session, it rose to 59,100 KRW.
On this day, Huons announced that its US subsidiary, HuonsUSA, was recently selected as the supplier of 'COVID-19 vaccine syringes' for Seattle City, Washington State, and has completed the first delivery.
The COVID-19 vaccine syringes supplied by Huons are minimum dead space (LDS, Low Dead Space) safety syringes manufactured by the domestic company Shina Yanghaeng, and are delivered locally through Huons Group's US subsidiary, HuonsUSA.
Additionally, HuonsUSA submitted samples from three domestic syringe manufacturers upon request from the Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA), and among them, Shina Yanghaeng's syringes passed the final test, leading to its selection as the official supplier of COVID-19 vaccine syringes.
The LDS safety syringes supplied by Huons were used at the Seattle Lumen Field Event Center, the largest public vaccination site in the US, and from the second batch onward, they will be supplied to medical institutions in Washington State beyond Seattle City. A total of 2.3 million syringes will be supplied within March, and from April onward, more than 3.5 million units will be supplied monthly. Huons plans to continue discussions for additional supply with various medical institutions outside Seattle City and other regional governments in the US.
