[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Pintel, an artificial intelligence (AI) video analysis specialist company led by CEO Kim Donggi, announced on the 17th that it has selected Daishin Securities as its lead underwriter and is preparing for an initial public offering (IPO).
Pintel is a technology-driven company that started its business in December 2015 with the goal of providing the world's best intelligent video analysis system. From its early days, it made bold investments in research and development (R&D) to develop its own core technologies, winning the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award for invention patents within one year, as well as the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award at the 2018 Smart City Summit Asia and the K-Startup Grand Prize.
In addition, Pintel has built a patent portfolio to protect its intellectual property rights and currently has 28 domestic and international patents filed and registered.
Pintel's key technologies include proprietary techniques that realize accuracy and cost-effectiveness in real-time video analysis, such as object selection based on image compression information (H.264/H.265), hierarchical multi-ROI tracking computation technology, and memory reduction through optimization of deep learning data batch structures.
Meanwhile, Pintel has shown an average annual sales growth of over 200% last year and is emerging as a notable supplier in the video analysis market for security, safety, traffic, and retail facial recognition.
