[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Teenagers who stole a car and drove without a license, claiming they wanted to give a ride to a girlfriend, were caught by the police.

On the 12th, the Wanju Police Station in Jeonbuk announced that they are investigating two individuals, including A (15), on charges of special theft and violation of the Road Traffic Act.

A and others are accused of stealing a car parked in an apartment parking lot in Deokjin-gu, Jeonju City, around midnight that day and driving it without a license to Iseo-myeon, Wanju-gun.

During the crime, they contacted the girlfriend and asked her to come out in front of her house, saying, "I will give you a ride."

Upon learning this, the girlfriend's parents questioned their daughter, confirmed A's criminal act, and reported it to the police.

The police who arrived at the scene found the stolen vehicle and investigated the circumstances with A and others.

A reportedly admitted to the crime, saying, "I did it to give my girlfriend a ride."

A police official stated, "Since vehicle traffic was light at the time of the crime, no accidents occurred due to unlicensed driving," and added, "Because the suspects are minors, we plan to conduct the investigation without detention."
