Hansung Baekje Museum, Weekend Exploration and Experiential Education for Elementary School Families Until June

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Hansung Baekje Museum announced on the 15th that it will operate two museum experience programs for families with elementary school children to enjoy on weekends starting from the 20th.

The Weekend Family Education is an online weekend experience program for families including elementary school students in response to COVID-19. Educational kits are delivered in advance and the program is conducted through real-time remote education. Since the kits can be received at home, participants can have a vivid experience comparable to on-site education. The education theme is "A Place to Live Forever, Tombs," where participants learn about the types and changes of tombs from prehistoric times to Baekje and experience making garlands using Baekje artifacts and relic cards.

Any family with elementary school children can participate, and the registration period is until June 14. There is no participation fee, but a computer equipped with a microphone and webcam or an environment capable of real-time online education is required to join. The number of participants is limited to 20 families per session on a first-come, first-served basis. The education sessions are held twice every Saturday from March 20 to June 26.

The Weekend Cultural Heritage Exploration program starts on the 20th for families with elementary school children to understand and enjoy the 2000-year history of Baekje on weekends. The exploration course starts from the Hansung Baekje Museum and involves walking tours of Pungnap-dong Earthen Fortress and Mongchon Earthen Fortress, which were Baekje royal fortresses. The Pungnap-dong Earthen Fortress tour concludes at Pungnap Baekje Cultural Park, and the Mongchon Earthen Fortress tour ends at the Baekje House Site Exhibition Hall.

The program runs every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. from the 20th to June 5, divided by each historic site. The number of participants is limited to 20 per site on a first-come, first-served basis, and there is no participation fee. Participants must bring personal earphones for the receiver and wear comfortable walking clothes. In case of rain or other weather conditions, the tour will be replaced with an exhibition hall visit, where participants can appreciate excavated artifacts with in-depth explanations from the instructor.

All programs require reservation through the Hansung Baekje Museum website or the Seoul Public Service Reservation system before participation. Detailed information about the programs can be found on the Hansung Baekje Museum website.
