[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] RaonPeople announced on the 12th that it has acquired a U.S. AI medical-related patent for the ‘Cephalometric Image Analysis Device and Analysis Method’ and a domestic technology patent for the ‘Defective Image Generation Device and Method.’
The patent registered in the U.S. this time is for the ‘Cephalometric Image Analysis Device and Analysis Method,’ an AI medical-related patent concerning a device and method that analyzes images measuring the patient's head for dental, orthognathic, and facial plastic surgery. By utilizing the AI dental solution incorporating the patented technology, it is possible to achieve accurate measurements within 1mm in just one minute, as well as analyze cephalometric images, securing over 500% efficiency compared to existing examinations. Through the result analysis report, patients can have quick consultations and confirm step-by-step virtual treatments to establish treatment plans. Additionally, the AI patented technology is applied to tooth alignment and tooth segmentation. AI enables accurate and rapid tooth segmentation within 20 seconds, allowing customized treatments in various fields such as extraction, non-extraction, orthodontics, and aesthetics.
RaonPeople has already registered related patents domestically and obtained medical device manufacturing certification for the cephalometric analysis software LaonCeph, as well as certification for compliance with medical device manufacturing and quality management standards (Korea Testing Laboratory). The company also secured a medical device manufacturing license from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, laying the foundation for product production. Utilizing the patented technology, the company plans to enter not only the domestic dental market but also the $6.5 billion (2020, Ibis World) U.S. dental equipment market, having opened a sales office in California last year.
In addition, a new domestic technology patent was registered for the ‘Defective Image Generation Device and Method.’ This patent is specialized in detecting irregular defects such as stains and micro-stains on product surfaces like OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) panels, and AI vision inspection solutions are expected to be widely applied in the domestic and international display inspection markets.
Meanwhile, RaonPeople plans to officially launch its AI dental solution business by unveiling upgraded dental software such as LaonCeph and LaonSetup, based on the related patents, at the SIDEX exhibition held at COEX for three days starting June 4.
