Gwangju City Hosts 'Everyday Sharing Ideas' Contest


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 12th that it will hold a "Sharing Ideas in Daily Life" contest until the 7th of next month to promote the spread of sharing culture and activate the sharing economy.


The contest themes are ▲sharing ideas applicable to daily life such as transportation, economy, environment, housing, and tourism ▲methods to enhance the utilization of public and private resources for sharing activation ▲development of shared items that can be used in daily life.


Anyone who is a Gwangju citizen, a student or worker at a school located in Gwangju can participate, and groups can also apply.


Gwangju City will award prizes and certificates after a first document screening and a second face-to-face evaluation for the submitted ideas: Grand Prize of 1,000,000 KRW (1 person, Gwangju Metropolitan City Mayor's Award), Excellence Prize of 500,000 KRW (2 persons, Gwangju Metropolitan City Mayor's Award), and Encouragement Prize of 250,000 KRW (4 persons, Gwangju Sharing Center Director's Award).


Those wishing to participate can download the form from the notice section on the Sharing Gwangju website, fill it out, and submit it via email. For related inquiries, contact the Gwangju Sharing Center.


Kim Ji-hwan, Director of the Autonomous Administration Division of the city, said, "Through this contest, we plan to discover excellent sharing ideas and utilize the selected ideas as actual pilot projects," and added, "We hope many citizens with creative and unique sharing ideas will show great interest and participate."
