[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Actor Kim Bu-seon, who was involved in the scandal, sharply criticized Hong Joon-pyo, an independent lawmaker, who targeted Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung by calling him "someone who even dates for free," stating, "The past relationship between Lee Jae-myung and me is clearly a private matter."
On the 10th, Kim said on SNS, "It is not right to drag private matters into politics," adding, "The fact is that he pretended to be a bachelor, and personally, that man's lies are criminal."
This was a counterattack after Hong lawmaker repeatedly criticized Governor Lee and mentioned her.
Kim said, "Please know that it is absolutely not something to mock with comments like free dating, etc.," and pointed out, "Wake up a bit and communicate."
Kim also shared news articles on SNS that introduced her remarks. In the articles, Kim criticized Hong lawmaker with words such as "Hong Joon-pyo, who seems to like paid things(?), should shut that filthy mouth," "For years, he insulted me, defamed me, and made continuous sexual verbal abuse... all of this is a serious crime," "At this point, I even suspect Hong Joon-pyo might be Kim Bu-seon's habitual stalker," and "I wonder if that's why even the People Power Party kicked him out."
Earlier, on the 28th of last month, Hong lawmaker referred to Governor Lee, saying, "The free dating with a certain actress was a scoundrel-like behavior," mentioning the past scandal with Kim.
On the 2nd, Hong lawmaker also mocked Lee's initiatives such as basic income, basic housing, and basic loans, calling them "a retrial with only the name changed in the free series," and "Heo Kyung-young-style pledges," adding, "Well, since he is someone who even dates for free, I can't stop him."
Kim claimed to have been in a romantic relationship with Governor Lee in the past but was labeled as a pathological liar, suffering mental and financial damages. In September 2018, she sued Lee for defamation but withdrew the case in November of the same year.
Governor Lee denied the 'actress scandal' allegations during a TV debate ahead of the June 13 local elections. Regarding the violation of the Public Official Election Act, no evidence proving the scandal emerged, and he was not prosecuted in December of that year.
