[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] InfraWare, a specialized office software (SW) company, announced on the 10th the launch of the ‘Polaris Office Web Hangeul’ service, which allows users to use HWP (Hangul Word Processor) files directly in the browser without any separate installation.
‘Polaris Office Web Hangeul’ enables free use of HWP files in a web browser without the need to install a Hangeul viewer program, sign up, or log in. It is an HWP web editor that supports not only viewing HWP documents but also editing, saving, and link sharing for complete document work.
It features excellent compatibility with HWP files, allowing users to immediately view and edit tables, images, and drawings, and save and re-edit documents on the PC without needing to convert formats. It provides an easy and intuitive menu along with zoom in/out, width/page alignment, single/double page view, and an editing environment optimized for HWP document work.
It supports various web environments such as Windows, Chrome, Firefox, and Whale, and Mac users can conveniently view HWP documents as well. Through the link sharing feature, anyone can quickly and easily check document contents, enabling users to open and edit documents directly in the web browser even when viewing or editing HWP files on shared PCs during fieldwork or business trips.
This service reduces the PC storage space required to download office apps or Hangeul viewer programs, the cost of installing paid programs, and the time spent on signing up and logging in. More details can be found on the official Polaris Office website.
An InfraWare official stated, “‘Polaris Office Web Hangeul,’ developed based on the high compatibility and document editing technology of Polaris Office used by over 100 million users worldwide, is free and convenient for anyone to use,” adding, “Since HWP files are mainly used by governments, public institutions, and schools, we expect the document work environment for many users utilizing these files to become more convenient.”
He continued, “We plan to advance the service to support various document formats such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in addition to HWP documents,” emphasizing, “We will create a document work environment suited for the untact era, such as remote work and non-face-to-face tasks, by integrating with Polaris Drive and other clouds as well as various collaboration platforms.”
