[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Sensor specialist Truewin announced on the 10th that it will supply the electric vehicle switch product 'SLS (Stop Lamp Switch)' for the entire first model of Hyundai Motor Company's exclusive electric vehicle brand, the 'Ioniq 5.'
On the 23rd of last month, Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the 'Ioniq 5,' the first model to apply its self-developed electric vehicle exclusive platform 'E-GMP.' The 'Ioniq 5' is characterized by securing a spacious interior by applying the electric vehicle platform 'E-GMP.'
Truewin supplies the SLS, an electric vehicle switch product, to Hyundai Motor's Ioniq 5. The SLS is a non-contact switch that detects brake pedal movement and outputs a vehicle brake lamp lighting signal. Compared to conventional mechanical switches, it features no physical wear or contact failure and has excellent durability.
A Truewin official said, "We have proven our competitiveness by continuously succeeding in supplying parts for electric vehicles," adding, "With the growth of the electric vehicle market, demand for our products is also expected to increase, and we will continue to achieve good performance through active production and supply of products after the Ioniq 5."
Meanwhile, Truewin achieved sales of 37.7 billion KRW in 2020, a 27% increase compared to the previous year, through continuous business diversification strategies and profitability improvement. The growth of the electric vehicle market also contributed to the performance of automotive sensor products, leading to a turnaround to profitability in operating profit and net income.
