The Bank of Korea Purchases 2 Trillion Won in Government Bonds... Up to 7 Trillion Won Purchased in the First Half of the Year

The Bank of Korea purchased 2 trillion won worth of government bonds to stabilize the bond market.


According to the "Government Bond Simple Purchase Competitive Bidding Results" announced on the Bank of Korea's website on the 9th, a total of 4.24 trillion won was bid, and the Bank of Korea's planned purchase amount of 2 trillion won was fully awarded.


The awarded amounts by bond type are ▲ 10-year government bonds 1.17 trillion won ▲ 5-year government bonds 140 billion won ▲ 3-year government bonds 690 billion won. Last month, the Bank of Korea announced that it would simply purchase government bonds worth 5 to 7 trillion won in the first half of this year to reduce market interest rate volatility.
