Jinju City, Please Donate Many Artifacts for the Construction of Jinju History Museum 'With the Infantry' Sheet Music

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City in Gyeongnam announced on the 9th that it has sent a letter to the chairpersons of five hometown associations, including the (Foundation) Japanese Hometown Association, to collect artifacts for the construction of the Jinju History Museum.

The letter informs the members of the hometown associations, who cherish and love their hometown from afar, that the city is collecting artifacts to be exhibited and utilized in the history museum, which is being promoted to establish the city's historical identity correctly and to pass down its proud history to future generations.

The letter emphasized that each piece of material carefully preserved by the hometown members can become part of Jinju's history and be passed on to descendants.

Along with sending the letter, the city enclosed a life-size reproduction of the sheet music for composer Lee Sang-geun's "With the Infantry," which was specially exhibited at the donated artifacts exhibition held at City Hall from February 8 to 19 under the theme "With the Hands of Citizens, Jinju's History."

The "With the Infantry" sheet music was donated to the city by Lee Sang-geun's bereaved family and was registered as a national cultural heritage last year as National Registered Cultural Heritage No. 791.

In addition, the city sent the sheet music to about 180 institutions, including elementary, middle, and high schools and public institutions within the jurisdiction, to promote the excellence of our cultural heritage and enable its use as educational material.

The city is currently collecting various documents, photographic and video materials, artworks, personal belongings, and handwritten manuscripts to revive the fading traces of Jinju and pass down our history to future generations.
